Whales are out Curers! The last twenty-four hours saw not one, not two, but some SIX coordinated whales close out their positions. For the uninitiated, ‘whale’ is the informal term given to an individual who has invested either very early in a project when the price was low, or purchased a very high number of tokens – sometimes both. Whilst in theory whales might seem to be a good thing (after all, large investments mean large Market Cap increases), in reality they can be somewhat problematic for growing projects such as CURE.
The reason that whales are often unwanted in a project is because they own such a large percentage of tokens, their sales can have a large impact on volume and therefore greatly affect the chart, causing extreme and problematic dips. This is often utilized on purpose, a behavior known as ‘whale play,’ which is a conscious manipulation of the chart to attempt to trigger a temporary mass sell-off, so that the whale can then take profit and re-enter at a better position. (This is why you will always hear people talking about ‘eating-the-dip,’ as more buys after big sells prevent the whales from re-entering, so they move on).
Of course whales are not always bad news, and indeed some can greatly benefit the project (such as many of the whales present in CURE), however some are investors whose only aim is to turn a quick profit - and they have no qualms about crashing a project in the process. Fortunately, due to its incredible ideals and support, CURE is already growing at a powerful rate, and as such has already begun to quickly recover from the large dip experienced yesterday evening. The more bad whales out of the project at this pivotal stage the better, as it will mean fairer distribution of tokens and a far more stable upward climb on the chart. So believe it or not, saying bon voyage to our whale friends is a good thing. We are shaking off and moving up, stronger than we have ever been.
We have plenty more exciting news to share over the next 24-hours, so stay tuned for an update very soon!
